WITNESS THOUGHTS, FIRST TEN MINUTES OR WHATEVER
- Same font as "Braid". Heh.
- I have a shadow. That's kind of neat. WHY IS MY SHADOW GENDERED, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WHY IS IT GENDERED MALE…?
- So far this is doing a really good job of making the spaces just feel sort of good to like… exist in and feel embodied in. I'm feeling myself doing a lot of little natural movements, moving up against a wall trying to hear a sound, that sort of thing. With that in mind, it's actually kind of disappointing that I can't sit on the couch? There's a couch about two minutes in. It looks really comfy. I wanna sit on it and look at the pretty trees! You can't sit. THE COUCH FEELS LIKE A BETRAYAL OF THE SPACE'S INNATE REALITY.
I want to think of this as an extension of my dog rule. My rule is: If your game has a dog, you should be able to pet the dog. As a natural extension, if the game has a comfy couch, I should be allowed to sit on it.
- I see where the first area is going, and I like it.
- This game is really good at making you EXTREMELY concerned with tiny distant noises. Solving one of the puzzles I started hearing a crackling sound, like something electric, or something on fire. I sorta halted and spun around legit concerned something might be on fire behind me.
- I keep seeing things— symbols, etc— that look like they ought to be important later, or something I'd want to consult. Given that, I actually kinda wish I'd been allowed to take and save photos in game! There's the PS4share stuff but it's a bit clumsy. I keep taking photos of the tv with my real-world cell phone.
- I really can't tell if this game "wants" to be played on KBAM or on a controller.
I'm gonna like… friggin mod this game to give myself a female shadow and an in-universe digital camera.
